BICHOLIM: Twenty-five-year-old Rajasthan youth Jitu Kumar Jadhav was feared drowned in Amthane Dam, Bicholim late Friday evening.

According to Bicholim police, five persons had visited the dam area to celebrate the New Year and three of them had ventured into the water for a swim. However, when two persons came out they realised that Jitu had gone missing. They carried out a massive search but in vain. Finally, they informed the Bicholim Police, who later contacted the Bicholim firemen. The firemen under the guidance of SFO Shripad Gawas rushed to the spot and conducted massive search, but in vain. On Saturday, a joint search operation was conducted by the personnel of Bicholim fire brigade and Navy. However, Jitu could not be traced until evening.
Bicholim Police said the search operation will continue till the body is traced.
