MARGAO: Cavelossim Sarpanch Dixon Vaz convened meetings with key government officials to tackle infrastructure issues as well as persistent transportation issues that were affecting Cavelossim and the e residents of neighbouring villages of Carmona, Orlim, and Varca as well.
The long-standing bus problems that have been plaguing the region since the pandemic were discussed with the Assistant Director of Transport and Valz lamented that
despite multiple previous meetings and interventions with the local MLA, the transportation challenges remain unresolved and it had significantly impacted local residents, particularly schoolchildren.
Vaz presented various suggestions to address the transportation deficit, receiving a promising response from the Assistant Director.
The Sarpanch also called on the Assistant Engineer (AE) from the Electricity Department at Aquem to discuss infrastructure improvements. The meeting focused on the installation of new street lights in the Mobor area. The engineer, Vaz stated, gave an assurance that the work to replace old electricity poles and conductors would commence on November 25.
Vaz requested that the electrical infrastructure work be completed with minimal disruption during the upcoming Christmas and New Year celebrations.
