PANJIM: World Shotokan Karate-Do Association (WSKA), Calangute excelled at the North Goa District Level Karate Championship 2016 held at association hall, Calangute, recently.
The participants claimed 75 medals, including 39 gold, 24 silver and 12 bronze.
The WSKA also performed well at All Goa State Karate Championship 2016 organised by All Goa Karate-Do Association affiliated to All India Karate-Do Federation, recognised by Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, (Govt of India) and Sports Authority of Goa at PJN Indoor Stadium, Fatorda. The association bagged 31gold, 24 silver and 15 bronze.
All the medal winners are eligible for government sports marks and were trained by Shihan Anthony Menezes, chief inspector World Shotokan Karate-Do Association and president All Goa Karate-Do Association.
The following are the medal winners: Double gold, District/State: Vedhant Palkar, Sneha Singh, Krupa Shirodkar, Divyanka Vernekar, William Rodrigues, Jeolla D’Souza, Zemora Fernandes, Lester Coutinho, Eustaquio Fernandes, Pritesh Arondekar, Nashwyn Gonsalves, Sairaj Kudalkar Vaishnavi Palkar, Mrunali Kudalkar, Padmavati Pradhan, Abieta Menezes, Rakesh Singarajula, Abhijit Borkar, Candice Fernandes and Kim Braganza.
Gold: Omkar Goltekar, Oriana Fernandes, Sneydon Misquita, Deepraj Vernekar, Rosita Lobo, Natasha Gonsalves, Ryan Menezes, Simran Batham and Pallavi Singarajula.
Silver: Dhanvir Goltekar, Yash Das, Siddhant Sakhalkar, Grace Sequeira, Dylan Fernandes, Niranjan Pradhan and Akshay Singh.
Bronze: Saiesh Naik, Dev Thakur, Prachi Singh and Jessy Gonsalves.
