PANJIM: South Goa Collector ND Agrawal informed Herald that he was not updated on the issue pertaining to the March 2012 letter sent by naval authorities to the State government directing it to immediately stop work on the de-notified land due to urgent security concerns.
Attempts to contact Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, Chief Secretary B Vijayan and also Home Secretary were in vain.
Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar’s phone was switched off and there was no response from the Chief Secretary despite repeated calls.
Only the South Goa Collector and liaison officer ND Agrawal responded after multiple attempts saying that he was not updated on the issue and that he was on leave.
The letter in question was addressed to the Chief Secretary, South Goa Collector, MPDA and the panchayat among others by the Navy.
