MAJORDA: Betalbatim SC defeated Davorlim SC 4-2 via the tie-breaker to move into the final of the 27th St Rock’s Super Soccer in memory of Urbano Gonsalves, organized by St Rock’s Youth Club, Calata-Majorda, at St Rock’s ground, Calata-Majorda, on Tuesday. The first half score was 1-1.
In a well contested semi-final the teams played out attacking football. Klinsman Fernandes floated a ball to Manushan Fernandes of Betalbatim SC but his header sailed over the cross piece of Davorlim SC in the ninth minute.
Andrew Colaco of Davorlim SC than saw his long ranger cleared to safety by Ricky Fernandes of Betalbatim SC in the 12th minute.
Paxton Gomes opened the account for Davorlim SC in the 26th minute off a supply by Andrew Colaco.
Klinsman finally equalized for Betalbatim SC in the 40th minute after an assist by Ricky Fernandes.
Crossing over, the teams tried to score the match-winner but the defence stood solid rock. Klinsman should have scored in the 49th minute after being fed by Frazier Rogtao but the former could not dribble past the rival defence in the 50th minute.
Subsequently, Klinsman’s long range effort from the centre was fisted away by goalkeeper Rosfan Miranda of Davorlim SC in the 66th minute. Davorlim SC nearly came close to scoring as Andrew Colaco set up Mark Borges, whose grounder went wide.
In the resultant tie-breaker, Betalbatim SC scored through Bernado Rodrigues, Klusner Pereira, Austin Fernandes and for Davorlim, only Meclon Colaco could score.
On Monday, Navellim Villagers defeated Cortalim Villagers 2-0 to move into the final.

In the very second minute with a powerful grounder from the close range off an assist of Milton Gomes.
Navelim Villagers doubled the lead through Clive Mascarenhas in the 44th minute after a supply from Aldrich.
Navelim Villagers will Betalbatim SC in the final on April 17.
