CURTORIM: Eighteen fatal accidents were reported in Salcete in the first five months this year, and going by this record it appears that the concerned authorities have no plans to expand roads and make provision for adequate parking space to deal with the growing number of vehicles in the taluka. Police have detected 17 of 18 fatal accidents.
Among these 18 fatal accidents seven were reported in Margao and Maina-Curtorim police station jurisdiction, three in Colva and one in Cuncolim.

Police said that no fatal accidents were reported in Fatorda. Twenty seven minor accidents were reported in Salcete during the first five months of this year of which 25 have been detected.
Out of these 27 minor accidents, nine were reported at Fatorda , six in Maina-Curtorim, five in Margao, four in Colva and three in Cuncolim Police Station jurisdiction.
Last year 21 fatal accidents and 51 minor mishaps and were reported in Salcete.
