MAPUSA: After two draws and a defeat, Goan Warriors Football Club registered their first victory thrashing Tropa Sports and Cultural Club 5-0 in Bardez Zone GFA 3rd Division League at Tivim ground, Tuesday. Warriors led 2-0 at half time.
Mufaiz Shaikh opened the scoring in the eight minute while Asher Santamaria made it 2-0 midway. Changing over, Warriors continued their dominance as Aquib Mirza scored at the hour mark. In the final quarter, Mufaiz scored two quick goals to complete his hat-trick.
Sanquelim hold Friends XI
At Quitla ground, Football Club de Sanquelim held Friends XI Sports Club, Vaddem to a 1-1 draw.
Vaddem took the lead in the 20th minute through Elvino Fernandes who toed the ball into the goal.
Post resumption, Sanquelim went all-out and equalized in the injury time as Anand Parab headed in off a dangerous cross from Augustine.
