Shah met allies to discuss political scenario: BJP

PANJIM: Clearing the air on the alliance partners’ meeting with BJP national president Amit Shah, the party said that the meeting was to discuss the current political scenario and smooth functioning of the government.
“It may be recalled that the BJP national president had summoned alliance partners Sudin Dhavalikar and Vijai Sardesai for consultation regarding the current political situation and future strategy as regards smooth functioning of the government,” State BJP president Vinay Tendulkar said in a statement.
He said Shah emphasised on the need for better co-operation between the alliance partners, including the supporting Independent MLAs, for smooth functioning and stability of the government for the development of the State.
“Also, he (Shah) assured alliance leaders support from the national leadership to the government for the full five-year term,” he said.
Further, he said, Bharatiya Janata Party is committed to coalition dharma and mutual trust and respect to the constituent parties therein.
“BJP will ensure that the current state government will function effectively in the interest of the State and the Goan people at large,” he added.
