Three held for illegal slaughter
MARGAO: Maina-Curtorim police on July 3 arrested accused persons, Mohammed Bashir Bepari, 31, Mohammed Faruk Bepari, 32, and Hidar Ali Bepari, 29, all resident of Talconda, Raia, under different sections of Prevention of Cow Slaughter Act 1978, Goa Animal Preservation Act 1995 and Prevention of Cruelty to Animal Act. All three were wanted by the police after a raid on June 28, brought to the fore an illegal slaughter house at Raia.
