SAG Mapusa’s Varad Parab emerged as the standout performer at the North Goa Men’s Weightlifting Championship 2026, earning the title of “Iron Man” after an impressive display of strength, technique and determination.
Parab, who trains under coach Mahesh Kavlekar, made a strong impact at the championship held on August 9 at Bastora in Bardez.

The championship was organised by the Sports Authority of Goa (SAG) in collaboration with the Weightlifting Association of Goa and the Weightlifting Centre, Peddem.
