PANJIM: Uninor has announced free unlimited Uninor to Uninor calling for all its subscribers between 10 pm to 7 am this Ganesh. The company is also offering a call rate of 25 p/min for other local calls free of cost during the same time of 10 pm to 7am to all its customers where customers can enjoy calling across Maharashtra at the lowest tariff in the circle. Meanwhil, earlier this year, the company announced a major 25% expansion in its circle. Uninor, across Maharashtra and Goa will have over 4490 network sites, with 70000 point of sales outlets, 400 express stores, 1000 RSEs and about 315 distributors in the Maharashtra and Goa circle.
GSL designed, built NOPV INS ‘Sumitra’ ready for commissioning
PANJIM: INS Sumitra, the new generation Naval Offshore Patrol Vessel (NOPV) built by Goa Shipyard Limited for Indian Navy, will be formally commissioned by Admiral Robin K Dhowan PVSM, AVSM, YSM, ADC, Chief of Naval Staff on September 4, 2014 at Chennai. The State-of-the-art, warship on commissioning will join Eastern Naval Command at Chennai for nation’s maritime surveillance and coastal security. INS Sumitra is the Indian Navy’s largest OPV, the fourth in its class and built on in-house design of GSL. The ship is fitted with most sophisticated weapons, guns, heavy calibre SRGM, rapid fire Russian AK630 guns, chaff launchers Kavach, EW system Sanket and various other electronic sensors. It may be recalled that four NOPVs were contracted to GSL. The first, second and third of the series of 105 meter class of NOPV – INS Saryu, Sunayna and Sumedha were earlier handed over to the Indian Navy by GSL on December 21, 2012, September 2, 2013 and January 14, 2014 respectively. Three NOPVs within last ten months have been handed over by GSL, a record for any shipyard.
