MARGAO: MLA Churchill Alemao demanded compensation to the family members Menino Santan Rodrigues from Wadi in Benaulim village though Colva Police registered a case of unnatural death following the electrocution of 64-year-old.
Apparently on May 13 there was water logging near Menino’s house and he went to clear it and in the process he unknowingly pulled a live wire fallen in the water and died on the spot due to electrocution.
Churchill alleged it as negligence on the part of the authorities that caused the death demanded that the family members be compensated for the irrevocable loss. He lamented that the police were not willing to register the case and did so only after he visited the police station and demanded that the case be registered.
