PANJIM: The Special Olympics Bharat, Goa swimming team bagged 4 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze medals ending overall 5th in the team championship, at the Special Olympics Bharat National Championship Aquatics hosted by Mandya, Karnataka.
The gold medals were bagged by Sachin Suvarna Male, Prabesh Chauhan, Godfrey Silva and Narayan Naik while the silver medals were pocketed by Sachin Suvarna, Kennedy Joao (2). Narayan Naik and Kennedy Joao pocketed the bronze for Goa.
A total of eleven states from all over India had participated in the Championship, wherein five special athletes accompanied by two coaches participated from different schools The athletes were Godfrey Silva (Daddy’s Home – Margao), and Sachin Survana, Kennedy Joao, Narayan Naik, Prabesh Chauhan and coach Raviraj Goankar (Sanjay School – Porvorim) and coach Harry D’Souza (volunteer).
