MARGAO: The Sessions Judge, Margao, presided over the hearing of arguments in the anticipatory bail application filed by Digvijit Chavan, who has been booked by the police on charges of alleged extortion and trespassing in a case related to the molestation of a woman by a Margao doctor.
The court issued notices to the Margao police, public prosecutor, and the defence advocate and heard the presented arguments. The court has scheduled the pronouncement of orders for today.
The Margao police, based on a complaint from the doctor’s son, have registered offenses against Digvijit Chavan for alleged extortion and trespassing. The offenses have been registered under Sections 448, 341, 385, and 506 (ii) of the IPC, pending further investigation.
The case revolves around a 77-year-old doctor named Prakash Audi, who has been accused of molesting a 26-year-old patient.
