MLA: Drug business flourishing with police blessings

PANJIM: Welcoming the action of Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in Goa, wherein five people including a Switzerland national was arrested for drug peddling, the Goa Forward Party (GFP) MLA Vinod Palyekar on Sunday alleged that the narcotic business in the State flourish with the blessings of local police. 

Addressing media persons, Palyekar said the local police are hand in glove with the drug peddlers and it is important that government reshuffle police inspectors from coastal belt on regular period.

He said the action by NCB has proved involvement of local police in shielding these drug peddlers. 

“It is high time that Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant intervene in the matter and take some swift action to curb or weed out drugs and rave parties from Goa,” he said. 

The former minister suggested that if he is made the Chief Minister of the State only for ten days, then he will wipe out all the illegal trades taking place across the coastal belt.
