PANJIM, NOV 22
The Centre on Monday will make its stand known in the Supreme Court on the formation of the much-awaited tribunal to resolve the water dispute between Goa and Karnataka, which has taken up work on the Kalsa Bandura project opposed by the former.
Chief Engineer Water Resources Department Sandeep Nadkarni said the matter was coming up for hearing tomorrow (Nov 15).
“We don’t know the decision of the Centre. A team of the State Government’s team is camping in New Delhi and will attend the hearing tomorrow,” he stated.
The court had given the Centre three weeks to notify the constitution of the tribunal to solve row. The bench of the court had asserted if the Centre failed to notify the tribunal then it would be forced to pass an order in this regard.
