The BJP on Saturday came down heavily on PWD Minister Churchill Alemao for the lack of development in Navelim constituency, with the saffron party saying that both Alemao and Luizinho Faleiro are two sides of the same coin.
Demanding a probe into the assets of PWD engineers, Navelim BJP Block President Damu Naik warned the PWD to improve the quality of roads or threatened to come on the streets or move the court for relief.
“The people of Navelim had elected Churchill Alemao by defeating Luizinho Faleiro, who had represented the constituency for 28 years with the hope that Alemao would make the difference. Shockingly, Churchill in just over three years has proved not to be different. Both Churchill and Faleiro are two sides of the same coin”, Damu said.
Claiming that there’s no development in Navelim constituency, Damu said “at many areas, the constituency is lacking basic necessities such as water”, adding that the condition of power supply is not better.
He alleged that roads tarred and hot mixed during Alemao’s tenure as PWD Minister is seen to be sub-standard with roads either developing pot holes or washed away.
The BJP president recalled that the Navelim MLA had had promised prior to the elections that he would help give jobs, but has forgotten the promise.
