Disaster! Goa without Goa Foundation

Goa and Goans are most fortunate to have an NGO named Goa Foundation. Goa without Goa Foundation could have been disaster to the entire State. The two major mining judgments by Supreme Court on illegal mining prove that the mining mafias along with State rogues Governments of either Congress or BJP are taking mining dependent people of Goa on a foolish ride with their shortcut policies. This it proves once again that both nationalized parties and mining mafias’ walks hand in hand to loot and destroy Goa.
The Shah Commissioner clearly termed that there was rampant illegalities of mining activities under elsewhere most corrupt Congress rule and particularly under Digambar Kamat as Minister of mines. Corruption was so rampant during Congress rule that Goans keeping aside their religion/caste/creed/language voted BJP under Monohar Parrikar to power with a sole intent to punish the culprits and bring rule of law in Goa but unfortunately CM Parrikar ditched Goans with constant dishonesty.
As years passed under BJP rule, Manohar Parrikar run away to Delhi without fulfilling the promises of punishing all the mining mafias, PWD mafia, Drug mafias and then arrived Laxmikant Parsekar a man with typical Charlie Chaplin appearance, who instead of putting the mining mess in order further renewed the mining leases of same mining mafias who looted and destroyed mining belts.
The renewal of leases of same mining mafias was expected since BJP is/was highest recipient of donations from mining mafias as obvious it proves that a friend in need is a friend indeed. But it was clear cut contempt of Supreme Court judgment.
After knocking the doors of lower judiciary the Goa Foundation was forced to bring again the false policy of BJP Government to the notice of the Supreme Court and eventually the Supreme Court quashed all the 88 mining leases renewed by former CM Laxmikant Parsekar and present CM Manohar Parrikar with a strict order of recovering the mining loot after appointing SIT of Chartered Accountants.
So far even after so  many days after recent Supreme Court judgment the Goa Government and unfit opposition members of Legislative Assembly seems least bother of continuing mining in a systematic order and BJP Government is totally silence on forming  SIT to recover the loot of our minerals.
Do the Government and Legislative members of Goa Assembly want to take mining dependent people of State on another foolish ride? Seem like, with their attitude of going forward with review petition. It wonders how a review petition will be entertain by Supreme Court against its own Judgment.
With Supreme Court judgment there is prima facie evidence that corruption is involved while renewing all the 88 mining leases  as well contempt of Supreme Court Judgment.
As there is clear cut conflict of interest in recovering mining loot given the evidence of renewal of mining leases of same mining mafias as against the previous supreme Court judgment and specially the donation the parties received from mining entities, the Goa Foundation should approached the Supreme Court once again to pave registering FIR’s as well arresting all the culprits for going against Court judgment. The Supreme Court should also request to monitor the recovery of mining loots with certain time bond.
It is also high time that CBI take over investigation against mining mafias/their fly-by-night operators and politicians since Goa Police are not capable to investigate huge mining scam as well they have long history of working under politicians influence. The FIR’s the Goa Police registered and Charge sheet they filed would collapse like pack of cards.
The former CM Laxmikant Parsekar and BJP Government are solely responsible for the mess in our mining policies. If they took little more time and concrete policies as per judgment of court, today the mining dependent people won’t have to require coming on streets.
Lastly I wish CM Manohar Parrikar a speedy recovery from his illness and wish he comes as a changed man with honest integrity to punish the mining mafias, to recover the loots from various scams taken place under Congress/BJP Government and to formulate a concrete long lasting mining policy along with the help of Claude Alvares of Goa Foundations for better of State and its people. The shortcuts suggested by Naals(coconuts) sitting within Goa Legislative Assembly won’t  help for running a sustainable mining activities in Goa. Remember Mr.Parrikar Goa without Goa Foundation will be disaster in long run. Also Parrikar has to face the consequences of his wrong doings.
