X’Mas traffic plan for Calangute

PANJIM: In view of Christmas and New Year celebrations, the traffic cell has chalked out special arrangements in and around Calangute-Baga stretch to ensure smooth flow of vehicular traffic from Tuesday onwards.

PANJIM: In view of Christmas and New Year celebrations, the traffic cell has chalked out special arrangements in and around Calangute-Baga stretch to ensure smooth flow of vehicular traffic from Tuesday onwards. 
A press statement issued by the cell says that the vehicles proceeding towards Calangute will be diverted at St Alex Church via St Anthony Chapel to St Joseph School and Baga Circle (Calangute) while the road from Baga Circle towards the beach will be converted into ‘One Way’ and as such, no vehicle will be allowed from Baga beach towards Baga Circle.
Similarly, the road from St Anthony Chapel towards Mira Hotel up to Baga Circle will be made ‘One Way’ and no vehicles will be allowed to proceed from Baga Circle towards Mira Hotel and towards St Anthony Chapel. The road from Jack Sequeira junction towards St Alex Church via Post Office will also be ‘One Way’ wherein only outgoing traffic from Calangute will be permitted.
All vehicles proceeding from Baga/Tito’s will exit from Hacienda Junction, opposite Cafe Coffee Day or from new Baga bridge towards Arpora. The road from Agarwada junction road towards Hacienda junction will be ‘No Entry.’ Similarly, the road from Toff Toff junction (near Our Lady of Piety Chapel) towards Prabhuwada junction (way to Joia Do Mar Resort) will also be ‘No Entry.’
Tito Lane and Lounge Fly Lane has also been identified as ‘No Entry’ zone from main Baga road and no vehicles except those of residents with passes will be permitted to enter these lanes. 
The parking for Tito and Lounge Fly will be in the parking lot next to Nazri Resort, GTDC ground Baga and in the fields near East Meets West Restaurant at New Baga bridge. GTDC ground and the fields will be used for parking of other vehicles as well. The vehicles will exit from bridge towards Arpora side to their respective destinations.
•No parking on the either side of the road from Baga Circle (Calangute) to Baga Bridge, and on either side of the road from Sinquerim to Candolim

•Cars – Road leading to Sewerage Treatment Plant on either sides
•2/4 wheelers – In the parking lot next to Nazri Resort, Baga
