Under the banner ‘J M Movies,’ Comedian Joana’s 7th DVD ‘Pain Zoddlem Main Moddlem’ carries a fair amount of comedy and some songs. The story revolves around Benjamin (comedian Humbert) and Josephine (Joana), who are blessed with four children, three sons and one daughter. Although the husband understands the importance of work and hard earned money, his counterpart prefers to get things the easy way.
She envies her neighbours enjoying spacious flats and bungalows, with a garage with four wheelers and all the luxuries. But Benjamin cannot stand the routine grumbling of his irritating wife.
At the behest of their mother, the eldest son Amerik (Luis Bachan), Derick (Franky Gonsalves), daughter Suvadik (Antonette de Maina) and the youngest, Eric (Desmond) get ready to go abroad, while the head of the family sits quite relaxed at home. Josephine pleads her husband to bless her children before parting, but he refuses, for reasons best known to him.
With the parting of the children, the couple feels lonely, but Josephine has high hopes that they will return with loads of money, which will help her to enjoy a luxurious life. Will the foursome make a fortune and fulfil their mother’s unexpected dreams?
What are the father’s expectations? On return home, what does the couple encounter? Are there joyous moments or heartbreaks in the family?
‘Pain Zoddlem Main Moddlem’ has a story to relate, besides a message for the guardians. Instead of dreaming big, couples need to be practical in their daily proceedings, thus saving what’s earned through hard work.
The DVD also carries songs by Selvy, Humbert/Joana and a hilarious solo by Joana. In between acts, there are also some cantos, which make the viewing enjoyable. But more songs in the form of duos, trios could have been introduced in between the acts to make the presentation more appealing.
The script has been penned by Manuel Pereira, with Elrick Vaz as the music director and Joywin Fernandes has handling the shoot and editing quite efficiently.
