VASCO: In a first of its kind, several Olive Ridley turtle hatchlings made their way to Baina beach on Wednesday evening. Locals and lifeguards posted at Baina beach rescued the turtles and released them back in the sea.

After locals and tourists at the beach spotted several hatchlings moving on the beach, they along with lifeguards immediately rescued them before people could harm them accidently during night. They then put them carefully in a basket and released them in the sea.
As news spread, a large number of locals rushed to the beach to witness the baby turtles moving on the beach before some locals and lifeguards rescued them.
Taking to his twitter handled, Forest Minister Vishwajit Rane said, “The arrival of several baby Olive Ridley turtles at Baina beach was a first of its sort. The turtles were saved by locals and lifeguards stationed at Baina beach.”
