The District Magistrate has banned the entry of SRS chief Pramod Muthalik, son of Hanumant Rao Muthalik, and his associates or members within the jurisdiction of North Goa district for 60 days.
The order comes days after Muthalik announced that he would approach the Court over the Goa government’s move to impose a ban on his organization’s entry into State, terming it “illegal”.
The State government had extended the ban on Sri Ram Sena on October 18, 2014, for 60 days under Section 144 (4) of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, which ended on December 18, 2014. If the ban is not extended, then it is deemed that there was no ban.
The Goa government had first banned the Hindu right-wing group from entering the State on August 20, 2014.
