PONDA: The roads in Ponda have tragically claimed six lives in the last three weeks, leaving the local community in shock and raising concerns about road safety. The alarming rise in fatal accidents has prompted residents to call for immediate government action and heightened awareness to prevent further tragedies.

Naresh Naik, a resident of Ponda, expressed his concern about the series of horrific accidents that occurred between May 23 and June 11 and remarked that the government should investigate the causes of these accidents and implement measures to curb road mishaps in the taluka. “Many roads in the area have sharp turns and are narrow, but accidents are also occurring on good and wide roads due to rash driving,” said Naik.
