MARGAO: Arlem Youth Association edged past Shiroda Youth Club 4-2 to collect three points in the GFA 3rd Division Football League, at Raia ground, on Wednesday.
In the first half, the score was 2-2 draw. Shiroda Youth Club opened the scoring in the 9th minute through Joel Cruz while Anthony Colaco doubled the lead in the 13th minute.
Arlem Youth Association got their goals with the efforts of Floyd Colaco and Dheran Fernandes.
Crossing over, Arlem Youth Association pumped in two more goals. Jovito Pango netted the third goal in the 70th minute while Floyd Colaco scored the fourth goal in the 71st minute. In another one-sided match, Sao Jose De Areal demolished Ugem Rising Club 15-0 at Padribhat, Sao Jose de Areal.
Mapusa correspondent ads: Goan Warriors Football Club registered a solitary goal win over Bastora United at Duler ground, here. The only goal of the match came in the 12th minute of play when GWFC’s Akshay Moraskar sent a pin point cross to Manjunath Rathod.
At Candolim ground, Holiday Club Arpora got the better of Anjuna Gymkhana by a 3-2 margin. It was Francis Fernandes who put Arpora ahead in the first session of play.
At Chapora ground, Dunes Sports Club, Mandrem scored a huge 23-0 win over Sai Avatar Anjuna.
At Nachinola ground, Friends XI, Vaddem scored a comfortable a 2-0 win over Sirsaim SCWC. Amar Pilekar and Benedict Fernandes found the back of the nets for Vaddem.
