CALANGUTE: Calangute MLA Michael Lobo and Sarpanch Shawn Martins on Friday met with the villagers opposing the setting up of the sewage pumping station in a residential area at Naikawaddo, Calangute.
During the meeting, it was discussed that the setting up of this plant could be shifted in the vicinity of the earlier land acquired by the government for setting up this project after feasibility tests were carried out by JICA and PWD. If that was not possible then they would have to stick to setting up the plant in the land that was already acquired.
Locals have been objecting the setting up of a sewage pumping station at Naikawaddo, because it is in a residential area and they fear it will emit a foul odour.
