PERNEM: Pernem Police on Tuesday arrested one Russian national Boris Mahashiva, presently residing at Morjim, for assaulting one Mumbai native.
According to Pernem Police Station Police Inspector Jivba Dalvi, Varun Taneja, native of Altamount Road, Mumbai, while proceeding towards Morjim and upon reaching near Morjim Khind Park, the alleged accused Russian national on his Bullet motorcycle started arguing with the complainant over the slow movement of vehicular traffic and further broke the windshield of his car.
He also assaulted the driver of the complainant and removed a hammer to further assault the complainant and his driver. The Russian national also threatened them with dire consequences to kill.
Immediately, the locals gathered and called the police, who rescued the complainant and the Russian national was placed under arrest under Sections 341, 323, 427, 506 (II) of the IPC. The accused has been sent to 13 days of judicial custody.
