PANJIM: Four days after the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (GBSHSE) declared the SSC results, some students found discrepancies in the marks released online and on the mark-sheets. The Board has clarified that some schools did not follow the prescribed format of the internal assessment marks resulting in minor discrepancies.
“We are aware of the problem and took speedy action no sooner we detected this before the announcement of the results. Some schools did not follow the format of filling internal assessment marks in 47 columns, resulting in the problem,” Board Secretary Bhagirath Shetye said.
The schools were thereafter instructed to rectify the problem, however, only some managed to do so. After the rectification, the updated results were sent to the websites, but only a few uploaded it giving rise to confusion among the students.
“The officials have worked overnight to set things right. There is no change to pass percentage. The results are flawless and errorless. We also open for verification,” Shetye said.
The Board officials say the problem was in two-to-three schools that did not rectify the internal assessment marks on-time.
