UTORDA: Rising Club of Uguem blanked Sporting Club of Davorlim 4-0 to advance to the next round of 26th Lourdes festival all Goa inter-village soccer in memory of late Bernard Custodio D’Souza organised by United Club of Utorda, at SAG ground, Utorda, on Sunday.
Rising Club of Uguem started play on a fast pace and drew first blood in the 11th minute when Arnold Rodrigues made inroads in the rival territory and later increased the tally in the 19th minute. Davorlim goalkeeper Ashikesh Shetty guarded the fort well and saved a few strikes.
The score at lemon time was 2-0.
Post resumption, Davorlim changed the strategy but Rising Club of Uguem were in form and Desmond Pereira scored in the 46th minute while Ashley Da Costa scored in the dying minutes.
Sporting Club of Davorlim tried their best to come back in the game but their strikers fumbled with chances that were created by their teammates.
