Joshua, Skyla win at U-11 Goa chess championship

PANJIM: Joshua Mark Telles won the Goa State U-11 in Open & Skyla Rodrigues  in girls chess championship respectively, organised by Tiswadi Taluka Chess Association in aegis with Goa Chess Association and Mahalaxmi Vachan Mandir.  

Joshua Telles scored 6 points out of 7 rounds and Skyla Rodrigues scored 6 out of 6 points.

The Second place in open category was bagged by Rajveer Patil while third place went to Saras Powar.

Other prize winners from 4th to 10th  Open Category are: Erwin Albuquerque, Aaryavrat Naik Desai, Vihaan Tari, Abhir Prabhu, Rishit Gawas, Aditya Ghadge and Shubh Borkar.

Second place in girls’ category went to Richel Pereira  while Diya Sawal got third place. 

 Other Prize winners from 4th to 10th in girls’ category are: Vidhi Naik, Lyia Silveira, Diya Naik, Avani Sawaikar, Shreyashi Fal Dessai, Jensina Sequeira and Muriel Fernandes.

Category Prize winners in U-7, U-9 in Open are Shaurya Agrasani, Ekang Malvankar, Prayank Gaonkar, Evan Telles and Ethan Silveira

Category prizes in girls in U-7, U-9 are Sanvi Redkar, Shinel Rodrigues, Shanaya Desai, Drisha Ghonge and Ishwari Raut.

The prizes were distributed by Mahesh Candolkar, President of Goa Chess Association in the presence of Satyawan Harmalkar, Dattaram Pinge,  Arvind Mhamal, Atish Angle, Naresh Pednekar,  Sandesh Amonkar, and other office bearers of  TTCA .

Two each selected players in Open and Girls Category will represent Goa at the 36th National Open & Girls chess championship 2023 which will be held at Andra Pradesh from October 1 to 7.
