Davorlim storm into semis

Sporting Club of Davorlim blanked Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda 2-0 to storm into the semi-finals of 29th Gold Silver Rolling Trophy inter-village football tournament organised by Navelim Sporting Club at Rosary ground, Navelim on Thursday. There was no score at the lemon break.
Both teams started on an aggressive note with their forwards harassing the rival defence with well orchestrated raids in the initial period. As the match progressed, play was restricted to mid-field, as a result there were a few attempts at either goal.
Davorlim surged ahead soon after resumption, when Agnelo Colaco scored off a pass from William Niasso.
Even as Don Bosco tried hard to regain their composure, there was no let up by Davorlim as their lads continued to pile up pressure, which the rival defenders failed to contain. Don Bosco Oratory made several forays into the rival penalty area, but all attempts were in vain.
Don Bosco had an opportunity to neutralise but Francis Andrade was the worst offender as he ballooned over from close range.
Davorlim doubled the lead midway in the second half, when Venson Figueiredo bulged the net after he picked up a pass from Joe Gomes.
