PONDA: Usgao village panchayat’s gram sabha on Sunday resolved to demand giving preference to locals for the jobs at the Kundaim Industrial Estate.
Other resolutions passed by the gram sabha included to discontinue two public water connections at Siddheshwarnagar, changing the place for erecting a mobile network tower elsewhere instead of intended place near government primary school, Kasalle and to strictly carryout tenant verification in the panchayat area.

The panchayat recently paid the water bill of two public taps at Siddheshwarnagar amounting to the tune of Rs 1,73,843. Locals are suffering from shortage of water and it was decided to discontinue the connections.
