MARGAO: Nuvem MLA Mickky Pacheco has warned the Government of filing a Public Interest Litigation if they fail to come clear on the Reliance 4G towers installation.
Addressing a press conference, Mickky alleged that Goa’s politicians have become contractors of the cable-laying works and have been giving free Wi-Fi to people” he said. “My inquiries have revealed that Reliance has not taken any permission from PWD to execute the trenching works. That is why some newly tarred roads have also been put to pathetic conditions by them,” Mickky said.
Mickky also questioned the government whether the “company has purchased Goa or have they paid the PWD officers to keep quiet?”
“The cables have been laid and the cement patch work which was used to seal the trenches has come off. Several two-wheelers have met with accidents and one such case happened in Betalbatim. The motorist has broken his leg and it had to be fitted with a metallic plate,” Mickky informed. People are paying road tax but the roads are very bad. Everyday accidents are happening,” he said.
“Towers were set up overnight. Who is giving them permission? And some politicians are also involved in this as they have got contracts and hence they are giving free Wi-Fi,” alleged Mickky. He also alleged that the Opposition parties who have taken tenders are also involved.
