PANJIM: The Goa Crime Branch on Tuesday apprehended a rape and murder accused wanted by the Bangalore Police.

As per the statement issued, the Crime Branch on Tuesday afternoon received information that one Praveena, 23 years, wanted by PS Kamakshipalya, Bangalore West was absconding and was believed to have escaped to Goa.
As such, in a swift action, three teams of Crime Branch were formed to track the accused. The accused was traced in Canacona where team of Crime Branch and Canacona PS led by PI Filomena Costa laid a trap and apprehended the accused attempting to cross the border. The accused was then handed over to Bangalore Police for further investigation.
Meanwhile, in yet another case, Cyber Crime police arrested a cyber bully and stalker Ahmed from Sangli- Maharashtra after receiving complaint from a school teacher.
The complainant had reported about ‘Someone’ was making obscene video calls to her and sharing pornographic images with her.
In a joint raid, Crime Branch and Women Police busted a prostitution racket at Arambol and arrested two people while one victim was rescued.
