MARGAO: The three constables of Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB) after being found by South Goa Superintendent of Police Arvind Gawas out of their designated spots on Wednesday night have now been recalled from their duties and are presently facing a departmental enquiry.
SP Visram Borkar disclosed that the trio has been recalled from their duties and are presently at Panjim where a departmental enquiry has been initiated against them.
PI Navlesh Dessai who was asked to submit a report on the incident by SP Arvind Gawas submitted that the three were not found on duty at designated spots.
While Davo Zoro was on nakabandi duty at Fatorda junction, Kapil Naik was on picket duty at the swimming pool and Jayesh Chari was on picket duty near Samrat Garden. All three were seen at a handcart having snacks by the SP who was passing by.
The trio did not even recognise the senior police officer and when the SP asked them what they were doing, they flippantly told him that they were having “ros omlette”.
Navlesh’s report states that Kapil Naik and Jayesh Chari were under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident and are likely to be placed under suspension.
