Sack Panjim MLA from GSIDC, says GenNext

Says it’s consulting legal experts to file disqualification petition

PANJIM: Generation Next NGO has demanded the removal of Panjim MLA from the Vice Chairmanship of GSIDC (Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation) for bagging the HVAC (Air Conditioner) consultancy work from GSIDC for the new Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB) building coming up at Saligao.
GenNext President Durgadas Kamat produced photographs of the site plan wherein the name of Panjim MLA Siddharth Kunkolinekar and his office address were mentioned.
Kamat has alleged that Kunkolienkar bagged the consultancy work either when he was Jt Secretary to the Chief Minister or after being elected Panjim MLA.
“This is a clear cut case of conflict of interest and using of government machinery for self interest,” Kamat said.
He said they have contacted a Supreme Court lawyer for legal opinion in order to file a disqualification petition against the MLA.
Kamat has sought intervention of the Chief Minister and demanded action on the officers involved in tendering the project.
Kamat said the consultancy job should be revoked immediately.
Kamat said the Goa Governor will also be petitioned in the matter and appealed to opposition MLAs to raise this issue in the coming Assembly session.
