PANJIM: Goa finally comes under the radar of the White House. Purnima Voria, the founder and CEO of the Denver-based National US India Chamber of Commerce, along with her team will be in Goa on November 17 to explore and talk about possibilities of trade and investment opportunities with the USA.
Voria will be in India as part of the Ivanka Trump (daughter of US President Donald Trump) led US delegation at the eighth annual Global Entrepreneur Summit in Hyderabad.
“This talk with Purnima Voria, founder and CEO of the National US India Chambers of Commerce is jointly organised by Assocham and Goa Chambers of Commerce and Industry (GCCI). Voria is part of the delegation of Ivanka Trump, who is coming to India on a special invite from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. We have managed to convince Voria to visit Goa. We can manufacture and trade but we need the market. This meet in GCCI will surely help us take concrete steps towards building business and trade relationships. We will also be opening a chapter in collaboration with GCCI,” all-India Chairman of MSME and co-chairman of Assocham and past president of GCCI, Manguirish Pai Raiker, told Herald.
GCCI President Sandip Bhandare said, “GCCI has been trying to have interactions and attract business to Goa. It is the continuation of the initiative taken by our past presidents. We signed an MoU with Goa Technology Association which has about over 100 members who are into technology development. Under this MoU we will help technologists to connect with people who could be potential clients for that technology or even funders. This meeting with Voria allows us to achieve this goal and will help open new vistas of opportunities for the Goans.”
Purnima Voria had served as an advisor to the Obama administration on the National Advisory Council on minority business enterprises for a two-year term to shape future policies and programmes that set the foundation for the growth of $100 million companies across all industries that are owned and operated by US minorities.
