PANJIM: Both the Congress and the Nationalist Congress Party in separate press conferences accused the BJP government of conspiring to deny beef to Goans calling it an important part of the diet of minorities.

Pointing out that the man behind the Govansh Raksha Abhiyan Hanuman Parab was a member of the BJP and an active worker, the parties suggested that it was a conspiracy by the ruling party to bring “untold miseries on both minority communities.”

They further alleged that the Advocate General was conniving with the petitioner. “The applicant and AG are in connivance. It’s a complete BJP petition as the applicant is a BJP worker,” Curtorim MLA and CLP spokesperson Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco told a press conference.

Chief spokesperson of the NCP, Trajano D’Mello also maintained that Parab was a BJP worker.

“The government has failed to represent the case properly to ensure beef is available at the counters,” he chided.
