Traffic safety week concludes in Vasco

VASCO: Vasco MLA Carlos Almeida on Saturday took resource to a personal incident during his college days to emphasise the importance of using helmets while riding a two-wheeler. 
He said he would implement a traffic plan in Vasco after Diwali, where no-entry and no-parking zones would be identified along certain streets. He was addressing students during the closing ceremony of the 4th State Road Safety Week at St Andrew’s HSS hall, Vasco. 
He also said renewal of licenses and insurance policy of vehicles was of utmost importance. He advised parents not to fall for the trend of gifting two wheelers to children when they finish school. 
Vasco Parish priest and Manager of the HSS Fr Gabriel Coutinho also spoke. Transport Director Arun Desai stated that road mishaps had decreased in the last four years. MMC Chairperson Bhavana Bhosle also spoke. He also said the traffic police man certain points im the cities for the safety of the motorists and they should not be despised for that. 
Officials from RTO from Vasco, Vasco Traffic Cell PI Sudesh Narvekar and others were also present.
