MAPUSA: In a letter to Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, the villagers of Ozari, Pernem have sought his intervention against a person, whom they claim to have carried out sand extraction at an illegal stone quarry. They further alleged that he has been claiming to be their landlord since past decade.
They have also sent letters to local MLA Manohar Babu Azgaonkar, Pernem PI Uttam Raut police, Mines Department, North Goa Collector, Dy Collector Pernem and Pernem Court demanding necessary action against him. The locals have requested for an immediate inspection and survey of land to ascertain the facts.
The villagers have also accused him of carrying out the illegality on their tenanted land in survey numbers 41, 45, 49, 51, 56 etc. which is a hilly area.
