BICHOLIM: The controversy over Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant’s land deal and his ancestral house does not seem to end as the Sanquelim Block Congress committee asking the Sanquelim BJP mandal to concentrate on development rather than being mouthpiece of the chief minister.
Address a press conference here, Block Congress President Mangaldas Naik said, “If we had done personal comment then why the BJP block had to answer through a press conference. We would like that the CM himself should come clear on the land deal and his ancestral house.”
“Our demands were straight forward and they were not personal comments as he is a public representatives,” he said adding, “He should also tell how many land deals he has done after becoming an MLA.”
Naik came down heavily on the chief minister over the land deals and also as to how he was able to get three dates from the mamlatdar in a mundkar case.
“More than 4000 Mundkar cases are pending and we wonder how only the CM’s case is getting early dates for clearing,” Naik stated.
He also came down heavily on the BJP block and advised them to concentrate on the development work rather than being mouthpiece of the CM.
“There are many pending and ignored projects including sewage treatment plant, cremation ground, swimming pool and other such issues but BJP block is more interested in giving answers to issues pertaining to the CM,” Naik claimed.
