NAVELIM: Assolda Veterans and Verna Veterans played a goalless draw in the 1st all-Goa SAI Veterans football tournament organised by SAI Veterans Football Association, at Navelim ground, on Thursday.
It was Assolda Veterans who dictated terms and dominated the proceedings .Peter Peixoto was the main culprit for Assolda Veterans who missed easy sitters twice, first Peter missed to connect a cross by Domnic Cabral when he shot out and again Peter missed out on his one-to-one with only the goalkeeper to beat he hit the goal post in the 34th and 36th minutes respectively.
The second half was mostly confined to midfield and the team’s defence did not allow any player to take a shot at goal.
