PANJIM: Mario Cabral e Sa, a veteran journalist, author and passionate Goan, passed away at the residence of his son in Mumbai on Monday. He was 91.
In accordance with his wishes, he was cremated in Mumbai and his ashes will be brought to his homeland Goa, where there will be a commemoration of the life he lived, informed family sources.

Mario started his career in journalism in his mid 20s. One of his first mentors was Amadeo Prazers da Costa, who edited O Heraldo. Some of the books he authored were ‘Goa’, ‘Konkannama’, ‘Great Goans’(3 volumes), ‘Legends of Goa’ and ‘Goa Pearl of the East’.
