Ravi inaugurates 1.5 TPD garbage treatment plant

PONDA:  Agriculture Minister Ravi Naik inaugurated the 1.5 tonnes per day (TPD) capacity garbage treatment plant at Keriya, Khandepar, with the support of the Goa State Urban Development Agency (GSUDA) costing around Rs 90 lakh. Each of the three machines has the capacity to treat 500 kg of wet garbage.

Minister Naik assured to provide all the cooperation for the development of the town and added that united efforts and cooperation will help to maintain the town and keep it clean.

The inauguration programme was organised by Ponda Municipal Council and Chairperson Ritesh Naik, Vice Chairperson Archana Naik Dangui, and Councillor Venkatesh Naik were present among others on the occasion.

Chairperson Naik said that the PMC was planning to set up a 5-tonne per day (TPD) capacity garbage treatment plant at Keriya, Khandepar in future for the treatment of garbage generated in the PMC as well as Curti Village Panchayat jurisdiction as it would help Ponda and surrounding villages.
