CAG hails ban on entry of Muthalik

PANJIM: The Catholic Association of Goa (CAG) in a press note issued here has said that it is grateful and pleased that the Chief Minister Manohar Parikar has finally ordered a ban on the maverick Pramod Muthalik from entering the borders of Goa.

It took a long time and many appeals and resolutions by all communities across the board to goad the Chief Minister into action, but good sense has eventually prevailed the CAG said. For those who supported the Sri Ram Sene chief with his one-point programme and nefarious design of harassing the minority community, it was a sad day that they could not read the writing on the wall.
This has happened at a time when our Hindu brothers and sisters were preparing to celebrate the festival of Ganesh Chathurti when we all pray for the ushering in of peace, progress, success and tranquillity.
The Catholic community wish our Hindu brothers a very happy Ganesh Chaturthi and a bright and prosperous year ahead. Goa has been a land of peace and progress and we all hope and pray that it will remain like that in the decades ahead.
Goa belongs to all its people and our Chief Minister is the leader and benefactor of all groups of citizens belonging to both the majority and the minority communities.
The CAG is thankful to the media for highlighting our problems and also for supporting the bonding of both the majority and minority communities, ends the press note issued here.
