The gram sabha of Assolna Village Panchayat has resolved that the panchayat body should grant any construction licence for new commercial project until the builder makes a provision for garbage disposal.
The garbage problem figured at the gram sabha meeting of the village, wherein members stated that the village is facing an acute problem of garbage disposal for want of a place for dumping.
Members while demanding that the builder makes a provision for garbage disposal said that the Panchayat should kept all applications for construction licenses pending.
The gram Sabha meeting further resolved that the Panchayat body should not issue any construction license for commercial projects proposed in the village, demanding that such proposals be first put up for discussions at the gram Sabha meeting before issue of any license or permission.
Taking serious note of the state of affairs of the historic Lohia Chowk, the gram Sabha demanded that the Lohia Chowk is a property belonging to the villagers of Assolna.
It was resolved to write a letter to the district Collector requesting him to hand over the Chowk to the village Panchayat of Assolna for maintenance and ownership.
Another resolution was adopted at the gram Sabha to identify all the migrants and other labourers residing in the village.
