MARGAO: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Saturday said no decision has been taken on holding the municipal elections on party lines and added that the BJP is confident of winning the forthcoming assembly elections in Goa.

Sawant was delivering a pep talk to BJP workers of Margao, Curtorim, Fatorda, and Davorlim. Sanghatan Mantri Satish Dhond, BJP general secretary Damu Naik, Yuva Morcha head Amey Karmali, Manohar Borkar, Tulsidas Naik, Minority Cell chief Haider Shah and others were present.
Sawant said, “There is no decision taken as yet to hold the election on party lines”.
He said these are internal BJP workers’ meetings and take place at regular intervals. The Chief Minister said at the Margao camp that they are all set and will be have such camps in 40 constituencies.
Dr Sawant explained that the BJP has governments at Centre and in Goa with 27 MLAs.
“We need to ensure that this majority continues in Goa and for that, the workers have to explain to the people all the good that has been done by the BJP,” he urged.
Damu Naik said these camps earlier were residential to refresh the workers with the ideology works, values, and the work that the BJP stands for.
“This is one of the biggest activities to strengthen the BJP and to spread nationalisation,” he said.
