PANJIM: Goa Police SC beat Curtorim Gymkhana 5-1 in the GENO First Division League organised by Goa Football Association, played at Artificial Turf, Fatorda, on Monday.
Sachin Chopdekar opened the scoring for the police side in the 21st minute while Milind Shinde doubled the lead four minutes later with a neat finish into the post as the Goa Police went into the half with a comfortable 2-0 lead.
On changing sides, Shaikh Mouzzasish added another in the 56th minute. Kishen Borkar managed to pull one goal down for the Curtorim side in the 84th minute but nothing seemed to have stopped the Police team as Galueez khan and Rajesh Salgaocar added two more goals in the final minutes as they stole all the points winning 5-1 over the Curtorim side.
In another game played at Rosary ground, Navelim, Velsao Sports and Cultural Club and Dempo SC had a tough game which ended goalless. The game witnessed a total of 3 yellow bookings for the Dempo side while 2 bookings for the Velsao team but neither of the sides managed to break the deadlock within the stipulated time.
