Hosts Saligao Sporting Club scored a hard fought solitary goal win over Sinquerim Sports Club to move into the quarter-finals of VM Salgaocar Trophy inter-village football tournament, at Sporting ground, Saligao on Thursday.
Saligao dominated the proceedings in the first session but were unable to find the net. Changing over, Saligao kept mounting pressure on the Sinquerim defence and were finally rewarded in the 50th minute when Nagaraj found the net. Sinquerim went all-out in search of the equaliser but were unable to get past the stubborn Saligao defence.
