BICHOLIM: The Health Officer of Bicholim Primary Health Centre, Medha Salkar has said that there are no cases of Kayanasur forest disease (KFD) reported in Bicholim even as the people are asked to contact the PHC in case of any symptoms.
Salkar told Herald that till date there has been no case of KFD in Bicholim. “There are some cases reported in Sanquelim PHC but they are mostly from Poriem and there is no need to panic. Only if the ticks from infected monkey bite human being there is a possibility of spread of KFD.”
