CANACONA: Rotary Club of Porvorim in association with Mukta Drishti Foundation conducted garbage segregation-cum-health awareness programme in all the panchayats of Canacona Taluka.

The programme was co-ordinated by Shristhal Biodiversity Management Committee. The garbage segregation at source and health awareness drive which was coordinated by BMC of Shristhal Village Panchayat was held in all the seven village panchayats of Canacona during the day.
Ramesh Tiwari, president of Rotary Club of Porvorim explained the ways and means to separate the wet and dry waste generated in the households every day.
He requested the panchayat to collect both the dry and wet waste separately once a week atleast. Tiwari also appealed to the people to make this awareness programme of segregating waste as part of Swachha Bharat mission.
